Macario Pineda (1912-1950)

Macario Pineda was born on April 10, 1912 and died of tuberculosis on August 2, 1950. He began as a short story writer in English before he focused on writing in Filipino during the war. Aside from fiction, he also wrote essays and horoscopes for popular magazines.

  • Magat, co-authored with Emilio Mar. Antonio and serialized in Liwayway from January 12, 1948 to May 14, 1948
  • Sa Lupa, Tulad Sa Langit, serialized posthumously in Ilang Ilang from September 7, 1950 to January 11, 1951
  • Isang Milyong Piso [original title is Ang Kaban ni Simon], serialized posthumously in Liwayway from August 28, 1950 to May 28, 1951
