  1. ano po ba meaning ng tulang ”ako ang daigdig”?

  2. OK, I don’t want to agonize if this was a joke or not so I’ll just consider this question seriously. I’d just like to remind everyone, however, that the primary interest of this site is on the Filipino novel.

Nonetheless, on Myla’s question: be aware that the criticism and appreciation of AGA’s “Ako ang Daigdig” is a history in itself–from Clodualdo del Mundo’s early dismissal of its literary merits to current dominant consideration of its pioneering contribution to Tagalog modern poetry. Even Virgilio S. Almario had a change of heart over Abadilla’s poem. You can read Del Mundo’s essay in his book “Mula sa Parolang Ginto,” and Almario’s in his books of essays on Tagalog poetry, especially the most recent, “Pag-unawa sa Ating Pagtula.” You can access info on the latter here: http://www.anvilpublishing.com/bookdetails.php?id=2006000049
