Birthday Greetings and Thank-yous, ca. 2008

This is just a list of people (aside from colleagues in Ateneo whom I saw earlier and so had no excuse not to greet me) I wanna thank for remembering my birthday, and finding time to greet me until early today—through text, e-mail, Friendster message & comment box, and Facebook message & wall:

My family and relatives: Mama, Tita Ayen, Jordan, Tito Joven, Tito Athan, and Ate Maricel;

High school friends Jepoy, Dennis (I only found out today in his texts that he’s in Vietnam), Erick (who told me that there will be a grand alumni homecoming in December), Indo, PM (my Kumpareng PM whose son Gab is my fifth godson) and Ron;

Friends from the JHNS in San Pablo: Kuya Budz, Vinnie, Mharra, Christian (now in Singapore), Ivy, Arvin, Khayam, Aldrin, Gen,  Jozzel, Johnny and Derrick.

College friends, blockmates and orgmates: Naya (who wrote a very long email with some surprise revelations), Chris (belated Happy Birthday, Chris!), Olive (advanced Happy Birthday, Olive!), Phanie, BJ, Boom, Jaclyn, Lei, Cathy, and EJ;

People I lived under the same roof with from Cervini to X-101: Kuya Aison, Anjo, Dennis (who thankfully survived a car accident four weeks ago),  Richel, Luigi and Aina;

Friends I knew from various workshops, either when I acted out as panelist or fellow: Joy Anne, Claire, Evie and Joanna of the AILAP workshop, Pao (Malate Workshop), and Eros (UP Workshop);

Former students and other students in Ateneo: Lem (from the very first class I taught, one of the most memorable classes I had), Angeli, Utoy (from Matanglawin), Chan, Jason, Ashley, JP, Irae and Steve;

Colleagues in Ateneo: Panch (who did the cover illustration of my poetry book, Pag-aabang sa Kundiman: Isang Tulambuhay), Christine, Yol, Gary, QT, April, Sir Je, John, Jason (who is now in NY for his Ph.D.), Sir Gad (former Lit 14 teacher);

and Pin, the person I knew through Dating Kundiman, and was one of my former buyers of secondhand books.

Thanks, thanks. You made my birthday memorable, even if I had to work yesterday—lecture to two sections of Fil 12, attend a deliberation for the Loyola Schools Awards for the Arts, and revise 50+ moonlighting articles. Did I miss anyone? Thanks, thanks.
