Last Saturday, there was not much choices to watch in Robinsons’ theaters, so Ines* & I opted to see the one with the most convenient time; we ended up with The Mist. The poster said that it was based on a Stephen King novel and was directed by Frank Darabont, whose The Shawshank Redemption (also based on a Stephen King novel) I loved. But the movie disappointed me big time. It’s not just the “horror” of the ending that failed miserably (a “never lose hope” message certainly does not work for me), but the fact that I could not feel the terror of the characters despite the actors’ arguably good acting made me feel cheated.
